Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 1, 2026
NautiWeather is published by Wiley Game Night Publishing (“we”). In short: we do not collect, store, share or sell your personal data.
Location
With your permission, NautiWeather uses your device location on your device only, to find nearby waters. We never receive or store your location.
No account, tracking, analytics or ads
There is no sign-up or account. The app contains no third-party SDKs of any kind: no crash reporting, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It is built only with Apple’s own frameworks, and its privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected data. If you choose to share crash reports with developers in your device settings, Apple handles those under its own policy.
Data providers
To show conditions, the app requests public weather and marine data directly from your device. These services receive normal request information, such as your IP address and the coordinates of the area being looked up, under their own privacy policies:
- NOAA and the National Weather Service (api.weather.gov, tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov, ndbc.noaa.gov, nowcoast.noaa.gov) — forecasts, alerts, tides, currents, buoys and radar. Privacy policy
- U.S. Coast Guard local notices, delivered through the GovDelivery RSS feed. GovDelivery (Granicus) privacy policy
- Open-Meteo — marine wave model. Terms and privacy
- Apple MapKit — maps and place search. Apple privacy policy
Wave data: Weather data by Open-Meteo.com, licensed under CC BY 4.0.
Data on your device
Your settings, saved and recent waters, comfort limits and the offline briefing cache are stored only on your device and are never sent to us. Nothing syncs through iCloud, so a new device starts empty unless you restore it from a device backup. Deleting the app removes this data.
Children
NautiWeather is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date.
